![]() | How the Optimizer treats pre-assignments The Optimizer’s treatment of pre-assigned events is confined to a syntax and conflict check. The Optimizer accepts a location pre-assignment even if: • The enrollment of the event exceeds the pre-assigned location’s maximum capacity • The pre-assigned location is blacked out at the times assigned to the event • The location fill ratio in effect for the pre-assigned location is higher than the fill ratio achieved by the pre-assignment The Optimizer allows more than one event to be pre-assigned to the same location at the same time if each of the events has been designated as willing to “share space.” Ideally, the majority of the events you send to the Optimizer should be requesting a location; that is, should not be pre-assigned. Although you may include pre-assigned events, the placement algorithm performs best when it is asked to do most or all of the work of finding appropriate locations for events |
