Definition
A tax schedule defines the percentage of the cost to be added to certain types of billable items. Tax schedules are created for groups of items and are applicable to particular rate groups.
Example
Here’s an example: All the rate groups at the university must pay the Food and Beverage Tax. Only the business groups, however, have to pay the Service Tax:
